It's a free app that you can download on your mobile device that now has a new feature. As the app creator tells us, it increases communication between law enforcement and members of the community. This is a picture of somebody in the airport. The name of the app, "See Something, Send Something," involves your mobile devices and increases communication with law enforcement and the community through several means of geofencing and crowdsourcing to be able to solve crimes. Former deputy and app creator Kevin Angel says it can be used to tell law enforcement what you know about a certain crime or tip them off to a new crime. The messages are monitored by law enforcement, usually at a 9-1-1 center. Now there's a new feature on this app that uses face recognition for adding that into our app, so that the everyday person now has that power at their hands. If they see a missing child or if they see a suspected wanted person, they can snap a picture, send that as a tip. The facial recognition will take place in the background, and the agency will get an alert that the match has taken place. Once a picture is uploaded, the sender fills out relevant information.
